It’s Your Business, Do It Your Way!
When it comes to running a business, there’s a lot of advice out there. And if you’re a ‘solo-preneur’ it seems the stream of advice is almost endless. But with so much information, sometimes the result is more questions than answers.
What business model should I adopt? What products should I sell? Who is my target market? What’s my niche? Am I ever going to figure it all out?
Take a breath because then there’s: Should I stock inventory? Should I dropship? Should I only sell digital products? Should I be on Facebook? What about Blogging?
AND WHAT IF I JUST DON’T GET TWITTER?!?
Exhausting, isn’t it? Don’t worry. You are more than capable of building a successful business without jumping through every hoop that’s hurled at you. The trick is getting clear about what works for you and how you work best. Don’t be afraid to explore the possibility that what worked best for you two years ago may not be what works best for you now, and may be different again in another year or two.
You see, one of the great things about being human is that each of us is constantly evolving and that the way we evolve is unique to each individual. Think about what your mindset was twenty, ten, or even five years ago. How did you think? What motivated or inspired you? What were your priorities? Now answer these same questions as you are today and you’ll witness the signs of your own personal evolution.
We’re all ‘works in progress’ and we need to allow for that in our businesses. What inspires me today may not inspire me tomorrow. What excited you last year may now seem mediocre.
Of course, most of the afore-mentioned advice is good useful stuff and the diversity of it simply highlights the variety within our species. So if you need information and advice for your business, embrace that with which you feel a connection.
And only jump through those hoops that inspire your mind.
